Ola Owens is
beginning her 13th year as the Elementary Principal.
Mrs. Owens holds a bachelor's degree in English and Business
from East Texas State University, as well as a master's
degree in Business Education with an emphasis in community
college. In 1995, she earned a Mid-Management
Certificate, also from East Texas State. Mrs. Owens
completed a two-year intensive principalship training
through the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors
Association in 1998. She has taught at the junior
high, high school, and college level as well as
some adult education classes during a 27-year span in public
education.
During her
tenure at Wolfe City Elementary, the school has received an
Exemplary rating seven times during the last ten years.
In the other three years, the campus rating was Recognized.
Wolfe City Elementary was one of 13 schools across the
nation to receive the first Model School Award from Reading
Renaissance. Another prized award is the years that
the elementary campus has been honored with the Title I
Distinguished Performance Award. It was one of only
125 campuses across the state to achieve that status this
year.
At Wolfe
City Elementary each child is our child,
whom we prepare for a life time of learning,
by encouraging curiosity,
teaching the skills to face academic challenges,
to become caring, tolerant, and responsible people
in our ever changing world.
